I have kits I am selling and lots of spare parts for this kit for sale separately. I currently need to either manage two SKUs for every product so some are 'reserved' for kits, or just not sell the replacement parts to avoid conflicts. This is a huge easily avoidable issue. Jut have an ability to have a different stock shown to sales channels than for internal use.

If it doesn't matter if the replacement parts sell first or the kits sell first, you can fix this with bundling. If you only want to sell the kits as kits and the extras as extras then it might take a little more creative thinking.

Sue Norwood: This is the exact problem I am having. I currently just need two SKUs one is "reserved for kits" and one is the actual part sold as a replacement. This is a really annoying workaround for obvious reasons.

This is very important to me as well. I am on the trial of Trunk, coming from Shipping Easy's outdated inventory sync system which has this feature and I use it quite often.

seconded! for etsy especially since they have a thing in listings that says 'only 1 available and its in x peoples carts', would really help encourage sales

Psychologically, when items are believed to be scarce or about to go out of stock, people tend to purchase to ensure they get it.

Mark Cramer: I also do not like competitors to always be able to see my actual stock levels as well, it works on two fronts for me.
